Summary: The U.S. Mission in Dakar, Senegal is seeking eligible and qualified applicants for the position of Mail/Pouch Room Assistant Supervisor (U.S. Citizen, Eligible Family Member only).

The work schedule for this position is:

•Full Time (40 hours per week)

Start date: Candidate must be able to begin working within a reasonable period of time of receipt of agency authorization and/or clearances/certifications or their candidacy may end.

Supervisory Position: This position provides backup supervision to six LE Staff mail clerks (grade level 5) to include work assignments, leave approvals, and documentation used in employee rating and counseling statements.

Duties: Incumbent assists the Mailroom Supervisor in managing all aspects of international, local, and diplomatic mail services. Backfills the Supervisor as interlocutor with Government of Senegal mail or

airport officials, express mail service providers, and any/all vendors providing mail or Diplomatic Postal Operations (DPO) related services.

Qualifications and Evaluations

EDUCATION: Two years of college studies is required.


EXPERIENCE: Two years of administrative experience is required. Additional one year of supervisory experience is required.


LANGUAGE: English level IV (Fluent) Reading/Writing/Speaking is required. (This will be tested.)

SKILLS AND ABILITIES: Must have strong customer service, computer, email (Outlook), internet, MS Office, OneNote, ILMS, and copier skills. Must have a valid driver’s license. Must be able to lift 50 pounds. Must be able to work outisde post’s core business hours; early mornings to receive deliveries and/or after 5:30 to hand out packages or receive time and temperature sensitive shipments.

Qualifications: All applicants under consideration will be required to pass medical and security certifications.
