Housekeeper/Cook: Merline Tchodjui

Merline has been a housekeeper for my family during our time here in Senegal (almost 4 years). She takes care of the cleaning, laundry, fruit/veggie and meat purchasing, ironing, and she prepares meals for us three to four times a week and when requested. The food she cooks is great!  She’s Cameroonian, so doesn’t cook Senegalese dishes, but she has a wide repertoire of Western and other dishes. She also takes care of the cats.  I have nothing but great things to say about her. She has rarely missed a day of work and can handle any task given to her. She speaks French and a good bit of English. The kids like her.  Although we don’t use her as a nanny, she has watched them occasionally when we’ve gone out in the evening.  We are really sad to be leaving and it feels like we are leaving a family member. When we are gone, she’s taken care of the cats and we feel completely fine with her being responsible for the house.   We will be leaving mid-June and she will be available at that time.  I highly recommend Merline and encourage you to contact me with any questions that you may have.
